Software

Geosyn offers software solutions to meet diverse geoscientific needs. VELMOD, our seismic velocity modeling software, provides efficient evaluation capacity, permitting to delineate complex subsurface structures. This innovative tool captures a comprehensive wave field, penetrating the Earth's crust and sedimentary basins to deliver well-constrained velocity-depth models. Complementing VELMOD, MICSEIS streamlines the processing of microseismic data from local and regional networks, facilitating precise earthquake localization. With a user-friendly interface, these tools collectively provide essential support for in-depth geoscientific exploration and analysis.

VELMOD

VELMOD is a seismic velocity modeling software designed to provide efficient processing and evaluation of seismic data, providing well-constrained velocity-depth models. The software utilizes tomographic techniques and forward modeling by kinematic and dynamic ray-tracing, making it an indispensable tool for seismic velocity modeling.

Input for VELMOD is Common Receiver or Common Shot Gathers recorded by stand-alone stations from wide aperture reflection refraction seismic observations (WARRS). The method involves:

  • Deployment of stand-alone seismic stations distributed along a linear array or in a grid for 3D observations recording any type of energy source or earthquakes.

  • Observation of the complete wave field from shallow to deep structures penetrating the crust and sedimentary basins, even in geological complex areas. Stations spacing can range from a few tenths of meters to one km or more, depending on the problem we intend to address

  • Inversion of the travel time data by tomographic techniques and subsequent modeling by ray-tracing permits the development of well constrained velocity depth models that can be further combined with other geophysical information, constraining the geological interpretation

  • No need to mute recorded data but only enhance the seismic arrivals by simple processing methods. No static corrections needed since the topography is introduced in the modeling process as it is.

MICSEIS

MICSEIS is a comprehensive software solution designed for the processing of microseismic data from local and regional networks. The output generated by MICSEIS can be easily visualized on maps using various software tools like GMT and Surfer. With its user-friendly interface, MICSEIS is an essential tool for researchers and professionals working with microseismic data.
